Today, Stockton warns its lawbreakers to be wary that the detection rate is on the increase, and crime is sure proving to be a risky business!
The closure of 2009 demonstrated excellent results, nearly half of all reported crime was successfully detected which means a 20% reduction in victims of crime. Stockton residents can feel safe and reassured that criminals are rightly brought to justice.
Crime in Stockton is now at its all time low, did you know over the last three years:
Violent crime has reduced by: 20%!
Robbery has reduced by: 18%!
Drug offence detections have risen by: 24%!
Anti social behaviour is a key priority for Stockton, the specialised Anti Social Behaviour team, Cleveland Police and Cleveland Fire Brigade have worked closely to clamp down on unruly Anti Social Behaviour. This joint approach has proved to be very successful as the bi annual Place Survey confirmed that residents who reported their 'Perceptions of anti-social behaviour as a problem' has in fact, reduced by 3%.
We know that residents like to see uniformed officers on the street so the Safer Stockton Partnership has contributed by providing an increased uniformed presence in the Borough through the Anti Social Behaviour Team and Neighbourhood Enforcement Service. The Partnership also supported the recruitment of 50 additional PCSOs for Stockton and we also know that our police officers spend 80% of their time on patrol.
