ASBO SECURED AGAINST BILLINGHAM MAN

A FIVE year Anti Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) has been secured at Teesside Magistrates Court against a 45 year old Billingham man.

Michael Boyes, of Knowle Road, Billingham was handed the ASBO after Stockton Council's Anti Social Behaviour Team applied to the courts following a long series of anti social behaviour.

The ASBO states Michael Boyes must not:

- Behave in a manner which causes, or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons, not of the same household as himself.

- Incite or encourage any other person to act in a manner which causes, or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons, who do not live with you.

- Use or incite others to use threatening, insulting or abusive words or behaviour in any place to which the public have access.

- Interfere with or impede in any way the operations of the Police, Neighbourhood Enforcement Officers, Police Community Support Officers, any Emergency Service Provider and Anti Social Behaviour Officers.

- Self harm, pretend or threaten to self harm or threaten suicide in public.

- Make improper sexual advances or use behaviour or language of a sexual nature, or act in a sexually explicit manner towards any person not of the same household as himself where the behaviour causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

- Be drunk and disorderly in any public place.

- Drink alcohol in a public place excluding licensed premises or organised event if lawfully enitled to do so.

- Enter or climb on to or remain in or on any home or associated gardens or outbuildings without the specific consent of the owner or occupier.

Councillor Steve Nelson, Stockton Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Housing and Community Safety, said: "We will always work closely with Cleveland Police to tackle anti social behaviour which can blight communities.

"I hope this five year order will send out a clear message that we will not tolerate such anti social behaviour and reassure residents of the Borough we will pro actively seek such orders through the courts."
