The Safer Stockton Partnership is the crime reduction 'arm' of Stockton Renaissance, the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP). SSP has the lead role on the priority improvement theme of developing and maintaining Safer Communities. We also make links between our work and that of other partnerships dealing with:
Children and Young People:- Diverting young people from offending (identified by residents as a key priority for this plan) and contributing to the 'Evry Child Matters' agenda delivered by Children's Services.
Economic Regeneration and Transport:- Business and Employment
Healthier Communities and Adults:- Epecially misuse of alcohol and drugs, and Domestic Violence
Liveability:- Environment, Housing and Community Cohesion:- Safety and Security for tenants and residents, reintegrating offenders into society, equality and diversity, tackling vandalism, graffiti and litter.
Key Priorities
The key priorities in this plan have been identified through our consultation programme and influenced by our first Partnership Strategic Assesment produced in January 2008 and Neighbourhood Policing priorities:
- Anti Social Behaviour
- Drug related crime
- Violent Crime
- Criminal Damage
- Diverting Young People from offending
Our sixth priority theme will be Emerging Issues. Within this priority we will use intelligence to assess issues identified yearly through the Police Strategic Intelligance Assesment, the Partnership Strategic Assessment and Neighbourhood Policing priorities. For the first year if this plan we will focus on Other Theft, in particular theft of mobile phones, wheelie bins, theft of metals and shoplifting.
